Memory Loss
A teacher in my department appears to be having memory issues and appears to be frequently confused. Should I approach her with my concerns for her well being and that of the students, or notify an administrator? I am afraid she will deny any issues.

If you are this concernerd it would be most apporaite to apporach the teacher first, asking if she feels this way if she denies it then before you go to administration it would be best to find evidence to back up your concern. That would be were some of thier studetns could help. This is when you ask only a handful of students that know or like the teacher if they think she is having troubles. If they agree that she does then I would go to the administartion. If not look for more evdience and vioce a possible concern during a staff meeting or other apporiont time to bring up teaching problems.

I would first express my concerns to the teacher. Make sure to be sensitive to this issue as well as show sincerity. This could be a career ending issue. If she denies these allegations than you may need to keep a notebook of issues for a couple of weeks and then bring it to the attention of your amid. If the students safety is in question then this should be brought to admins attention immediately.

I would tell her how you feel. I would ask administration to observe her. Just for her safety and overall wellbeing.

You should approach her and talk to her about your concerns. You should offer help and support. You could get information for her to help with her memory issues and give them to her while sharing coffee or at lunch one day.

As a teacher, I believe you must say something. For her safety and her students safety.

I would first adress the issues with her in freidnly non threatening or agressive way. Then based on her reaction (i.e. denial, agression etc.) i would adress it with my administration.

I would approach the teacher first. If they accept it, then you could get them the help that they need it. If they deny it, then you could suggest ways to help them remember things such as a planner or a calendar. You never know, the situation could be less serious than you thought.
