How to introduce snacks in your classroom
Offering a healthy snack during independent reading time is beneficial to students as they will not be distracted by hunger pains.

In the first week of class, send each student home with a letter introducing the idea, offering suggestions on healthy snacks, and letting them know when their child is due to bring in a snack for the class to share.

In my experience, the class enjoys this and the parents (even those less fortunate) contribute.

This is a great idea for students and teachers. It has worked in the classroom after PE because students can get hungry after that.
Snacks may wake students' minds up as well.

This is a great idea. I know I work better on a full stomach.

This is a good idea. Students can't learn if they're hungry.
