Lesson Description:
In this lesson, students will investigate and apply the box method strategy for multi-digit multiplication. This includes decomposing 2-digit numbers, multiplying the values of digits, and adding multi-digit products together.
Standards:
Other MGSE4.NBT.5 Multiply a whole number of up to four digits by a one-digit whole number, andrnmultiply two two-digit numbers, using strategies based on place value and the properties ofrnoperations. Illustrate and explain the calculation by using equations, rectangular arrays, and/or arearnmodels.
