Ava really wants to see Pluto. She is Maya's best friend and loves everything about space and astronomy. She wants Maya to fly her to Pluto.
I really want to see Pluto. I am Maya's best friend, and I love everything about space and astronomy. I want to Maya to fly me to Pluto.
It was a relief to be back in the safety and comfort of my family’s home after the horrors of war, but I am afraid that the food at dinner was a little disappointing. Abigail had done her best with the broth, but it was very bland without spices, and while Ben had worked hard to grow the vegetables, there were barely enough for us all. I tried to show my appreciation, but I can’t help feeling a little resentful that the Loyalist cause my parents support is half the reason for the poorquality and taste of the meal.
I am very proud of the Patriots and my role in the cause, so I was pleased when Abigail and Ben asked me questions about the Battle of Saratoga. I thought it important that they understand the real horrors of seeing men killed on both sides. While I am a Patriot, it doesn’t mean I enjoy seeing any man being killed, even a Loyalist. I could see that Mother is worried about me fighting in battles, and I appreciate that she still cares about me, even though I am fighting for a cause she doesn’t believe in. I was shocked and sad when Father announced they are going to move to New York. I tried to appeal to them, but Mother clearly doesn’t feel they are safe here anymore. Despite our differences, I still love and care about them very much and don’t want them to go. My heart particularly hurts for Abigail, who I know also believes in the Patriot cause and doesn’t understand why they have to leave.
