Composite numbers are numbers with more than two factors.

Examples:

12 - 1 x 12, 2 x 6, 3 x 4 - The factors for 12 are 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 12  The number 12 has 6 factors making this a composite number

15- 1 x 15, 3 x 5- The factors for 15 are 1, 3, 5, 15. This number has 4 factors so it is a composite number.
