Lesson Description: With an emphasis on the shift from the Medieval to the Renaissance eras, students will investigate the historical and cultural effects on art in this lesson. Students will view a film on important artists and art movements using a flipped classroom style, after which they will examine how history and culture influenced their creations. Students will then take a short quiz on the video itself. In class, students will analyze and contrast pieces of art from both eras, emphasizing how the artists represented the ideals and values of their respective societies. In order to better understand how art changes in reaction to its surroundings, they will also produce original works of art
